Duke slept for literally six hours at work today. He came back home and fell asleep
watching the Olympics.* He’s probably sleeping in the common room right now. He’s
kind of like a koala bear: only conscious for like four hours a day.

*I’m pretty sure this was an attempt to get out of helping me clean the bathroom, which
we had to do before we leave.

We were planning on spending the evening cleaning and packing so I’m ready to go as
soon as we’re done at work tomorrow. Of course we ended up watching the Olympics all
night and frantically cleaning in about twenty minutes.

Tomorrow we’re going out to lunch with a few of my coworkers. One of them mentioned
possibly making a presentation to like two people tomorrow, but that had better not
happen. I’m hoping we’ll get done at work early so I can start driving home as soon as
possible. I don’t really want to be driving through Southern Illinois in the middle of the
night. Neither of us really has anything to do at work anymore, so hopefully they’ll let me
go.

I think that’s all I have to report for today. I’m unbelievably tired right now because I
didn’t spend all day sleeping. Tomorrow’s post will probably be our last, but I’m not sure
if mine will be up tomorrow night because I may be in the middle of nowhere with no
internet.

I haven't slept well at all the past few days...Last night I only slept for like 3 hours, which caught up to me pretty badly at work when I was not doing anything waiting for one of my tests to finish this afternoon. People also keep sorta mentioning this presentation thing...eh.

We came home to watch some Olympic events whose results were gradually ruined for us as the evening unfolded. I was screwed over by people on Facebook who don't understand that some people can't watch the events as they happen during the day. One of our roommates was screwed by CNN. Garrett was screwed because he was sitting near that roommate when he got screwed. One event that I didn't know the outcome of before it began was the USA v. Nigeria basketball game, but I knew what the outcome would be about 4 minutes into the game.

Today we started cleaning the bathroom and stuff since Garrett leaves tomorrow. As long as nothing tragic happens in the next 18 hours or so, we will have survived 7 weeks of summer living together without killing each other.

Today was very similar to yesterday and the day before. Work is really starting to wind
down. I think I have one more test I’m going to do tomorrow, and then I’ll pretty much
be finished with all I can do. My boss mentioned something to us today about us possibly
giving a presentation, but I’m not sure how we’re going to do that, because we only
have two days left and neither of us really have anything to present. I don’t think it’s
reasonable to ask us to put together a fifteen minute presentation in a day and a half, and
they don’t even know when we’d be presenting or who we’d be presenting to, so they’d
better not actually ask us to do that.

We tried one last Dayton pizza place (mediocre again) and now we’re watching the
Olympics with Daniel again. The other thing we did this afternoon was talk to the people
in the housing office about how we check out. Tomorrow we’ll probably have to spend
quite a bit of time cleaning and packing so I’m ready to go Friday night. We also may be
going out to lunch with some of my coworkers either tomorrow or Friday.

Today at work was pretty regular. I finally started reading our summer book for O-week during work today, and it seems far more interesting than the O-week book we had my freshman year. One of the peeps at work also mentioned how we might have a presentation or something. It's sorta the first time it's been even mentioned in a couple of weeks, and I have no idea who we would present it to or what we would present. I don't exactly have much...presentable stuff. Anyway, tomorrow we'll begin the outprocessing.

I sorta realized how much random stuff I have to discard or take back home with me this weekend. We bought a lot of stuff just to last for our 7 week stay here; I don't really have any space to bring stuff back home with me...

Garrett finally beat me in a Pokemon battle today (after losing the prior 2). Now my record against him is 8-1.

If you’re wondering what happened today, read yesterday’s posts, and that will pretty
much tell you everything. The only difference was that my boss showed up halfway
through the morning today. That was good, because we had pretty much run out of stuff
to do. He likes to talk a lot, so we basically spent the rest of the day listening to him
explain things to us. That gave us something to do.

Other than that, we haven’t done anything different today. We’re watching the Olympics
with one of our roommates now. All three of us have accidentally ruined at least one of
the events for ourselves by seeing the results online earlier today. Luckily I only know
what’s going to happen in one event, but still, news websites should really not put up the
results until the events are broadcast.

That’s all I have for today. We’re both just waiting for Friday.

Nothing really happened today either...

What's annoying about these Olympics is they don't show the events until primetime, so I have to not spoil the outcome before watching at night. It's a bit difficult when Facebook seems safe until somebody random mentions whatever sport I'm interested in. I also don't have the discipline to stay off Facebook for a day or whatever.

Later this week, the USA plays Nigeria in basketball...uh-oh.

Work today was really strange. Duke’s coworkers are all out of town this week. We were
both going to work in my lab with my boss, who I thought was going to be there today.
He wasn’t, so we were basically on our own all day. Duke really didn’t have anything
to do since all his people were gone, so I spent a little time teaching him how to use the
machines I’ve been working with. We weren’t very busy today, and we ended up leaving
early.

Other than that, it’s been a pretty normal day here. We went to the grocery store earlier
and we’ve been watching the Olympics with one of our roommates all night. Nothing
particularly interesting to report. We only have four more days of work, and it looks like
I’ll probably be starting my drive home on Friday night, so I can’t wait for Friday.
