G12

Apparently this “Tattoo” thing that’s happening at the base tomorrow is kind of a big
deal. At least it is to people in Dayton. Today four different coworkers asked me if I was
planning on going. I’m still skeptical, but we might have to leave work early* tomorrow
so they can set up for it. So even if it isn’t interesting, some good will come of it.

*I’m not sure what counts as “leaving work early” in a building where most people are
gone by 4 anyways. I don’t anticipate working much tomorrow.

Duke had been sitting on the couch watching an internet stream of the NBA draft all
night. I think he needs help. I didn’t think there was anything more boring than a regular
season NBA game, but that is way worse. I have no idea how any sane person could
possibly watch that.

I’m writing my post early tonight so Duke can’t complain that I’m taking too long. I
think tonight I’m going to keep telling him that he needs to hurry up just so he can se
how it feels.

I think tonight I’m going to have to get late night food in Dayton for the first time. I have
no idea what the options will be. I’m not really expecting anything decent to still be open,
but I’m sort of sick of eating the same cheap food every day.

My roommate** has been sitting in the living room writing code and drinking beer
since dinnertime. He’s exactly like a lot of my friends. It’s actually sort of reminiscent
of hanging out in the Lovett commons late at night. I’m not doing anything while other
people write code. Unfortunately I won’t be able to ride to Whataburger in the back of a
pickup truck now.

**Sadly, not Duke. One of the other ones.
