G2

Today was our first day of work at the Air Force Base, but before we could go to work
we had to meet with the people in the housing offices here at Wright State about our
rooming situation. They said they’d try to find us a new apartment during the day.

Our first day of work was pretty uneventful. We probably can’t tell you exactly what
we’re doing*, which is awesome. We’ll be working on different projects, and of course
my project is way cooler than Duke’s. He will tell you otherwise, but he’s wrong. The
stuff he’s working on is so boring he fell asleep several times at work today.

* And even if we could tell you, I would probably say we couldn’t.**

**Asterisk footnotes back by popular demand.

We got off work a bit early and came back to the housing office, where we learned that
the lady working there had put us in a four-person apartment by ourselves. It’s pretty
awesome. We have our own little deck in the back, and we each get our own bathroom.
I’m excited to have a pillow and blankets on my bed tonight. Most importantly, my room
is far enough away from Duke’s that I no longer have to listen to his terrible, terrible
music. Seriously, his music is awful.

The only thing that’s disappointing about the new apartment is that I won’t have a chance
to befriend the family of raccoons that was living outside the old building. Oh well.

This evening, we went shopping for food and supplies. Our best purchase was the set
of plates and bowls we bought. Duke’s plate and bowl have owls printed on them; mine
have a frog and a cow. We ate a gourmet dinner of Kraft mac and cheese, and then
finished moving into our new rooms. Remarkably, Duke has not yet taken an Instagram
picture today. I’m sure that will change soon.

I’d like to conclude today’s post by pointing out that our blog is now only two days old,
but it has twice as many posts as some other blogs that have been around for more than a
month.
