G16
There wasn’t really anything to do today at work because pretty much everyone in the
office is on vacation for the week. I think today was the first day since we’ve been here
that I finished work before Duke did.
After work, we went to the grocery store to restock the fridge. We mainly just needed to
get more milk, because the gallon we had went bad when the power was out. Duke seems
to think that this was my fault. I have no idea why. He could have checked the fridge
at any time this weekend and noticed the milk was going bad, but he never thought to.
Apparently this makes it my fault that we needed new milk.
He’ll probably tell some irrelevant and entirely untrue story blaming me for the smell in
our refrigerator, but don’t pay any attention to that.
Duke had to go buy a new version of Windows to fix his computer. I’m relieved that it’s
working again, because he was pretty close to making me update the blog for the first
time yesterday. I’ve managed to avoid doing that so far, and I don’t want to have to start
now.
In celebration of the power being back on, we spent the evening watching How I Met
Your Mother. We’ve been watching since we got home. I think we’ve gone through more
than a season tonight, and we’re now more than halfway through season five. Now I have
a song about suits stuck in my head.
We need to plan something to do for the Fourth of July. I always enjoy getting fireworks
and blowing things up, but that may be kind of difficult here. Fireworks are illegal in
Ohio. In my experience, a state ban on fireworks isn’t a problem because a few minutes
away there’s a state filled with rednecks that allows fireworks. Here, we’re more than
an hour away from the nearest state where fireworks are sold. So it might be kind of
difficult to blow things up on Wednesday. We’ll have to think of a plan B.
