G24

As I write this post, Duke is complaining about the all star game. I have no idea why
he’s complaining. Sure, it’s not the most interesting game, but this kid watches NBA
basketball. There’s no way this is worse than professional basketball, so he can shut up
and let me watch what’s going on in the Motherland for one night. Now he’s claiming I
fell asleep during the game, which is entirely untrue.

I spent most of my day at work today teaching other people how to use the equipment
in my lab. I’m not really sure how I ended up in charge of teaching people how to use
machines that I’ve only been using for ten days, but whatever. It isn’t my fault if I forget
to tell them something important and they break expensive equipment, right?

One of the people I had to teach stuff to was my roommate.* I only mention this because
I want to point out that he is terrible at mounting samples. He ruined a few. I tried to
teach him my ways, but he just isn’t talented enough.

*You have to teach him quickly, while he’s still awake. Eventually he falls asleep and, I
assume, stops listening to what you’re trying to teach him.

I miss How I Met Your Mother.

I don’t know what else to talk about, so I’ll discuss Duke’s dietary habits. He eats a
pepperoni pizza bagel every day at Einstein Brothers, then today for dinner he had a
pepperoni sandwich and pepperoni pizza bagel bites. Seriously? Does he ever get tired of
eating the same thing at every meal? He’s an odd kid.

Finally, I should point out that tomorrow will mark the halfway point of our stay in
Dayton. Hopefully the second half will be as much fun as the first half has been.
