G29

Today we decided to finally check out the Air Force Museum. It’s located on the base,
it’s free, and we had heard that it’s pretty interesting. We had kind of been putting it
off because we had been looking for things to do farther away from Dayton, but today
seemed like a good day to go.

Anyways, we went to the museum this afternoon, and it was awesome. There were
hundreds of airplanes, and some other stuff, too. Mostly just lots of airplanes. The
exhibits are set up in chronological order, so the museum starts with the Wright brothers.
We only made it to the Cold War section today (we probably got through less than half of
the exhibits), so we’re going to have to go back next weekend to finish.

They also have a flight simulator game, which was awesome. We wanted to get the
high score, but we weren’t even close. I blame Duke, because he was the one firing the
weapons. I was the pilot, so I had the fun job.* Despite Duke’s lack of ability as a copilot,
we did manage to shoot down six enemy planes, mostly due to my superior maneuvering
abilities.

*We spent half the flight upside down, of course.

There’s a gift shop in the museum, and I almost spent my entire paycheck on all the
remote control model airplanes. Luckily, I was able to resist that temptation. For now.
We’ll see if I can do it again next weekend.
